While I was getting ready for the day; with several things on my mind; racing to get to the gas station before the car stopped, thinking about my schedule over the next few weeks and thinking about all the things that were going wrong in my life. I was having a full on slug fest with myself.
Just as I was about to say another negative statement the Holy Spirit held my tongue and all I could do was say the name of Jesus. At that moment I prayed for forgiveness and rebuked the spirit of negativity.
I was not speaking life into my situation; I was speaking death. We all at some point in time have bad days and life will happen, but you cannot continue to put negativity into the atmosphere and expect it to work out in the end; it just does not happen that way.
How many times have spoken death over a situation? Are you surprised when it does not work out or you fail at something? Well you spoke death over it and cursed it so it did what you told it to do.
Trust me I know it is hard and I struggle with my little tongue a lot; but today was different! I have so many great things going on in my life why focus on what is not going OUR way right now (Another post later this week on that).
When it comes to any situation God has already told us what to do ~ CHOOSE LIFE~
I’m calling for heaven and earth to give witness against you this very day. I’m offering you the choice of life or death. You can choose either blessings or curses. But I want you to choose life. Then you and your children will live. Deuteronomy 30:19 (NIRV)
So today choose life in what you say, what you do, what you think and how you live!
